Grand Bahama Grand Bahama, through the efforts of dedicated individuals stillwater campground and institutions such as the Rand Memorial Nature Center and the Lucayan National Park, has become something of an environmental headquarters for the islands. With its miles of sandy beaches, excellent shopping, two casinos, a dozen or so large hotels, a waterfront district and many restaurants, Grand Bahama is quickly becoming a major vacation destination.
Turks Head Inn. This old inn, circa 1869, oozes atmosphere. There are just eight guest rooms, all recently renovated and furnished with antique reproductions. Satellite TV is a bonus, as are the telephones, if you consider such luxuries an essential. Some of the downstairs stillwater campground rooms have their own gardens, and the upstairs rooms have balconies. Best of all, it s inexpensive.
